Yemi Ward was named the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week the conference office announced Monday.
Ward had a huge day for the Bees, coming down with four receptions for 155 yards and three touchdowns. The senior wide receiver hauled in scores of 59, 23 and 57 yards. His second two touchdowns of the game came 26 seconds apart and pulled St. Ambrose, which had trailed 36-10 in the fourth quarter, to within 36-30 with 3:08 remaining. The Bees' final gasp came up short in a six-point loss to Lawrence Tech.
Through three games this season, Ward has 11 receptions for 205 yards and three touchdowns.
