Miller-Meeks highlights support for small businesses during Muscatine County tour

Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa's 1st district, shared updates on her recent tour of Muscatine County. The purpose of the visit was to highlight local and small businesses as part of the One Big Beautiful Main Street Tour, which is tied to President Biden's One Big Beautiful Bill Act aimed at supporting business growth.

On June 17, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks tweeted about her first stop on the tour: "Great to be in Muscatine County today for a One Big, Beautiful Main Street Tour! I’m visiting local and small businesses to highlight how @POTUS’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act will support their growth and success. First stop: Western Drug."

Later that day, she visited Relion Insurance and posted another update: "Second stop on my One Big Beautiful Main Street Tour in Muscatine County: Relion Insurance. From startup hurdles to Main Street expansion, local insurance access plays a big role in business growth." She emphasized the importance of insurance access for business development under the new bill.

Continuing her tour on June 17, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks stopped at Carpet One and highlighted the impact of small businesses on job creation with her tweet: "Third Stop on my One Big Beautiful Main Street Tour in Muscatine County: Carpet One Small businesses create two out of every three new jobs." She pointed out that the legislation secures deductions and expands immediate expensing for small enterprises.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Dave Loebsack. Prior to this role, she was an Iowa State Senator from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955, she now resides in Le Claire and holds a BSN from Texas Christian University.
