U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who serves Iowa’s 1st district in Congress, has recently highlighted her legislative activities and community engagement through a series of posts on social media.

On September 4, Miller-Meeks shared a summary of her recent work in Washington D.C., posting "Here’s the Weekly Wrap from Washington DC! https://t.co/G1P6PDn5Eh".

The following day, she addressed mental health concerns among corrections officers. On September 5, she posted "Corrections officers face one of the highest suicide rates in the nation, nearly 40% higher than the general population. That’s why I introduced the Corrections Officer Blake‍ Schwarz Suicide Prevention Act of 2025, creating a program for mental health screenings, confidential".

Continuing her outreach in Iowa, Miller-Meeks visited an infrastructure project in North Liberty. On September 6, she wrote "It was great to visit the AGC Streb Construction site in North Liberty and see the progress being made on the I-380 exchange and new Penn St bridge. Always good to meet with folks on the ground and hear directly from Iowans about the projects that are shaping our communities. https://t.co/RQ9NU9ERtm".

Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa’s 1st District since 2021 after serving in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. She succeeded Dave Loebsack in Congress and is currently based in Le Claire. Born in Herlong, California in 1955, Miller-Meeks holds a BSN from Texas Christian University earned in 1976.
