Today, Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks announced her participation in the bipartisan DOGE Caucus within the U.S. House of Representatives. The caucus aims to foster collaboration between Congress and President Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It is expected to initiate reforms to streamline government operations and reduce taxpayer expenses.
"I am thrilled to join the House DOGE caucus to tackle ongoing waste, abuse, and fraud in the federal bureaucracy," said Miller-Meeks. "Everyday Iowans are living paycheck to paycheck and know the value of every dollar. Meanwhile, unelected bureaucrats in Washington are freely spending taxpayer money. Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk are successful businessmen who will bring a fresh set of eyes to make government more efficient and effective. I look forward to working with them and my House colleagues to advance President Trump’s agenda to rein in wasteful spending and protect taxpayer dollars."
This announcement comes at a time when the national debt has surpassed $36 trillion. In 2024, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported that federal agencies have made $2.7 trillion in improper payments since 2003.
The House DOGE Caucus is led by Representatives Aaron Bean, Pete Sessions, and Blake Moore.
Miller-Meeks recently appeared on Fox News where she discussed DOGE and praised Musk's and Ramaswamy's business approach.
