U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks announced that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved UnityPoint Health's application to open a new Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) facility in Bettendorf, Iowa. This approval follows efforts by Miller-Meeks and the Iowa delegation urging CMS to support UnityPoint Health's proposal.

The Bettendorf location is seen as crucial for seniors in Iowa, with plans underway for additional PACE facilities in Waterloo and Hiawatha. "I am thrilled CMS heeded our calls to approve UnityPoint Health’s Bettendorf location," said Rep. Miller-Meeks. She emphasized the importance of PACE centers as they allow seniors to live independently while accessing necessary healthcare services.

Matt Swanstrom, Executive Director of UnityPoint Health PACE Senior Care, expressed gratitude for the approval, stating, "We are thankful that CMS approved our application to open a new PACE facility in Bettendorf." He added that the facility aims to provide coordinated health care and support for eligible seniors, enabling them to stay at home safely.

The facility will be located at 2119 Kimberly Road in Bettendorf and will feature a medical clinic, day center, therapy gym, and other amenities designed for local seniors. UnityPoint Health PACE Senior Care – Bettendorf is set to begin serving eligible seniors on November 1.
