WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) issued a statement following the departure of the last Iowan injured in a recent stabbing incident involving Americans at a public park in China. The individual has now returned to the United States.
“I am relieved that the last Iowan is finally on his way home to the United States. Due to his grave injuries sustained in the attack, he was forced to recover in China before he was medically cleared to fly. I thank the U.S. Embassy in China for their assistance during this critical time and appreciate the Chinese government’s cooperation. We were glad to assist the family in their time of need and hope for a speedy and complete recovery.”
