Davenport is bringing more highly-anticipated improvements to another major thoroughfare beginning August 1 with resurfacing of 2nd St between Harrison St and the Government Bridge. Planned work should be complete by early-to-mid-October 2022.
Work will begin in the eastbound lanes and then transition to the westbound lanes in early September. Travel will be maintained in the lane opposite the work zone. For example, westbound travel will be allowed when work is performed in the eastbound lanes and vice versa when work transitions to the westbound lanes.
Parking and turning traffic will also be impacted.
- Right-hand turns will be permitted. Left-hand turns will only be allowed at Harrison and Brady as applicable to travel. *In the initial phase Iowa bound travel will not be permitting turning onto 2nd St.
- Parking will not be permitted on the side where active construction is taking place.
Impacted residents, property owners, property managers, and the public are invited to learn more about the project and ask questions on Thursday, July 21 at 9:00 a.m. during a virtual session. The meeting will be recorded. Those unable to attend will be able to find a recording of the session on the website the day after the virtual meeting.
