DeWitt Chamber and Development Company issued the following announcement on Dec. 22.
First Central State Bank is pledging $50,000 to the DeWitt Referral Center.
The donation is directed toward the referral center’s building campaign, an effort that will construct a new facility for the non-profit.
The investment continues an ongoing effort by First Central State Bank to support the community and provide necessary assistance to those who need it, Brigham Tubbs, First Central State Bank CEO and president, said.
“Helping others is at the core of First Central’s mission,” Tubbs said. “This is a project that we believe is necessary for the community and we’re proud to contribute to this worthwhile endeavor.”
The capital campaign aims to raise $995,000 to fund the new building. The new 9,000-square-foot facility will feature an expanded food pantry, emergency assistance, referral and crisis assistance services, and thrift shop.
“The support we receive for this project will help us continue to meet our goal of assisting those in our community with dignity, respect and compassion while receiving support for a stronger future,” the DeWitt Referral Center’s Board of Directors said.
