Exercise walking 760x475

City of Muscatine issued the following announcement on Apr. 8.

Members of the Muscatine Walking Club have stepped into spring and are ready to take on the new Million Minutes Challenge.

This growing club of over 1,000 members will work together to see how long it will take for the group to walk for a total of one million minutes. The Department is asking participants to submit their minutes walked via email at parksoffice@muscatineiowa.gov or over the phone by calling (563) 263-0241.

The Walking Club is a free program sponsored by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department that allows members to walk anywhere they like, inside, outside, or on a treadmill, and submit their minutes for a chance to win weekly incentive prizes. Winners will be notified via email with weekly announcements posted on Facebook.

Want to be a part of the competition for our weekly incentive prizes for walking each week?  It is easy.  Just register for the Walking Club by contacting the Parks and Recreation Department at 263-0241 or by email at parksoffice@muscatineiowa.gov.
