Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 1st district since 2021, has recently commented on national gas prices, government support for women and children, and current protest movements through a series of social media posts.

On October 17, 2025, Miller-Meeks compared gas prices under different administrations by stating: Under Joe Biden: "Gas prices hit $5 national average after rapid rise" Under @POTUS: "National gas prices continue to fall, nearing $3 average for first time in four years" The difference in leadership could not be clearer.

Later that day, she discussed her efforts to support the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program during a government shutdown. She wrote: I joined several colleagues in sending a letter to @SecRollins thanking her and the entire Trump Administration for stepping up to protect WIC for mothers and children during the government shutdown. More than 62,000 Iowa women and children rely on these benefits every month (October 17, 2025).

On October 18, 2025, Miller-Meeks addressed recent protests by referencing their organizers. She posted: We ditched kings 250 years ago. The Soros-funded, America hating, communist organizers behind today’s protests still haven't gotten the memo. Hope everyone stays safe today.

Miller-Meeks began serving in Congress after replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 and previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire at age 67, she graduated from Texas Christian University with a BSN in 1976.
