Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who represents Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing topics including government funding negotiations, Big Tech and censorship, and criminal justice policies.

On September 24, 2025, Miller-Meeks criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer regarding ongoing budget negotiations: "Chuck Schumer is holding our government hostage to give illegal aliens free healthcare, revive COVID subsidies, cut $50B from rural hospitals, and spend trillions more. @HouseGOP passed a clean CR. It’s time Schumer stop the games and keep the government open for our military," she wrote.

Later that day, she commented on allegations of political censorship involving technology companies: "Google is the latest in a growing list of Big Tech companies to admit they were pressured by the Biden Administration to censor political speech it didn’t like. Democrats weaponized government to silence debate. Big Tech went along. That is government censorship, plain and".

On September 25, 2025, Miller-Meeks addressed crime policy: "When violent offenders walk free thanks to soft-on-crime Democrat policies, innocent people pay the price. In Iowa, we stand for law and order. Criminals belong behind bars, not back on the streets."

Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa's 1st congressional district since 2021 after serving in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. She succeeded Dave Loebsack in Congress and currently resides in Le Claire. Born in Herlong, California in 1955, she holds a BSN from Texas Christian University.
