Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 1st district, has recently highlighted her legislative and advocacy efforts through a series of posts on social media.

On September 14, 2025, Miller-Meeks wrote about her engagement with local agricultural leaders: "I led a roundtable in Blue Grass with Iowa Corn Growers to discuss the Farm Bill and the benefits of year round E15. We also talked about how the permanent relief from the Death Tax in the Working Families Tax Cut will preserve their legacy by allowing them to pass the farm onto".

Two days later, on September 16, she announced a major federal initiative: "The first-of-its-kind $50B Rural Health Transformation Program is officially launched! I’m proud to have helped deliver this historic investment that will strengthen rural hospitals, support providers, and expand access to care for communities across Iowa."

Later that day, Miller-Meeks reported on meetings in Washington: "Today, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons came to DC to discuss Medicare physician payment reform and burdensome pre-authorization, which does not improve the quality of care and may, in fact, cause harmful delays in treatment."

Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa’s 1st District in Congress since 2021 after replacing Dave Loebsack. She previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and now residing in Le Claire, she holds a BSN from Texas Christian University earned in 1976.
