Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 1st district, posted a series of statements on her social media account on September 10, 2025, addressing economic developments and the passing of a public figure.

In her first post at 17:55 UTC, Miller-Meeks commented on recent inflation trends and monetary policy expectations: "The 'experts' once again expected inflation to rise, they were wrong. It dropped thanks to @POTUS, and next week we will likely be getting the first interest rate cut of the year!"

Later that day at 18:59 UTC, she expressed condolences for Charlie Kirk and his family with the message: "Please join me in praying for @charliekirk11 and his family."

Miller-Meeks has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Dave Loebsack. Before her tenure in the House of Representatives, she was an Iowa State Senator from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire, Miller-Meeks holds a BSN from Texas Christian University (1976).
