Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 1st district since 2021, shared updates on her recent activities and policy priorities through a series of posts on social media in early September 2025.

On September 2, Miller-Meeks posted about returning to Washington, D.C. after traveling throughout her district: "Happy to be back in our nation’s capital after a productive August across all 20 counties in Iowa’s First District. I’m ready to continue delivering @POTUS’s America First agenda: cutting taxes, lowering costs, creating jobs, securing the border, and restoring the American Dream."

Later that day, she expressed gratitude for a fellow Iowa lawmaker: ".@SenJoniErnst has been a friend, mentor, and fighter for Iowa. Thank you, Joni, for your service and leadership."

On September 3, Miller-Meeks addressed developments in healthcare technology: "AI is transforming healthcare by improving access, affordability, prevention, and improving patient outcomes. However, it is not a doctor, and it is not a therapist. Unregulated chatbots can mislead, and even harm. We need clear standards so innovation saves lives without"

Miller-Meeks began serving in Congress after replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 and previously held office as an Iowa state senator from 2019 to 2021. She was born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently resides in Le Claire. Miller-Meeks earned her BSN from Texas Christian University in 1976.
