Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently representing Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to share updates about her meetings with business owners and her positions on legislative issues.
On August 21, 2025, Miller-Meeks posted about hosting a discussion in Clinton: "I led a roundtable in Clinton with restaurant and hotel owners from across the district to discuss reconciliation’s pro-growth provisions like 199A, No Tax on Overtime, and No Tax on Tips. I’m grateful for their insights as we work together to grow jobs and opportunity in Iowa."
Later that day, she expressed views regarding compliance with U.S. laws: "If you want to drive on American roads or work in American communities, you must follow our laws and understand our language. No exceptions." This statement was posted on August 21, 2025.
The following day, Miller-Meeks shared observations from her visits across the district: "I’ve been traveling across the district meeting with business owners and employees, and the support is overwhelming. They see firsthand that the reconciliation bill is working. Its provisions give businesses the certainty to hire, expand operations, and create jobs, and workers" (August 22, 2025).
Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa's 1st District since taking office in 2021 after serving in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. She succeeded Dave Loebsack as representative of the district.
