U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who has represented Iowa’s 1st District in Congress since 2021, recently highlighted manufacturing growth and constituent services in a series of posts on her official X account.
On August 19, 2025, Miller-Meeks credited federal policy for local economic development, stating, "Thanks to President Trump’s leadership and the Made in America provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill, Iowa’s 1st District, the top manufacturing district in the state, is powering growth for our workers, our state, and our nation."
Later that day, she described a visit to a local business: "I visited Oertel Metal Works in Davenport for a shop tour and a roundtable with their team. We discussed how the Made in America and small business provisions in the reconciliation bill, including 100% immediate expensing for capital investments, No Tax on Overtime, and permanent" (August 19, 2025).
The following day, Miller-Meeks addressed constituent services: "Live in Iowa’s 1st District and having trouble with a federal agency like Social Security, the VA, or the IRS? My office can help! Head to my website today for a full list of services we offer!" (August 20, 2025).
Miller-Meeks has served as U.S. Representative since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021. She previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire at age 67, Miller-Meeks holds a BSN from Texas Christian University.
