Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., who represents Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on her work and interactions with constituents via a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 16, 2025, Miller-Meeks wrote about a meeting at her Indianola office: "Enjoyed meeting with Linda Smith and her friend Carol at our Indianola office to discuss HR 3742, which addresses glioblastoma in Vietnam Veterans and the PACT Act."

Later that day, she highlighted an interview at the State Fair: "Had a great conversation with @JeffAngeloRadio at the State Fair about the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and how it's delivering real support for Iowa families, farmers, and small businesses!"

On August 17, Miller-Meeks reflected on her experience at the Iowa State Fair: "My favorite part of the Iowa State Fair is the opportunity to meet amazing people from all around Iowa, and there was no shortage of them this year! As a 24-year Army Veteran, it’s always special when I get the opportunity to chat with fellow veterans about the issues they care".

Miller-Meeks has served as U.S. Representative for Iowa's 1st District since 2021 after replacing Dave Loebsack. She previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire, Miller-Meeks is also a graduate of Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
