Later that evening at 20:03 UTC, she addressed the four-year anniversary of the U.S. exit from Afghanistan under President Joe Biden: "Four years ago today, Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan became one of the most shameful moments in our history, abandoning American citizens and Afghan allies to the Taliban, leaving billions in U.S. equipment behind. We must never forget and must hold that"

Miller-Meeks has served as a congresswoman for Iowa's 1st District since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 and previously represented her constituency in the Iowa Senate between 2019 and 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University.
