On August 14, 2025, Miller-Meeks posted about hosting Secretary Wright at the Ames National Laboratory. Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa's 1st congressional district since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 and previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire, she earned her BSN from Texas Christian University in 1976.
