U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who serves Iowa’s 1st district in Congress, shared updates on social media highlighting her recent activities, including a visit to Ames National Laboratory and experiences at the Iowa State Fair.

On August 14, 2025, Miller-Meeks posted about hosting Secretary Wright at the Ames National Laboratory. She wrote, "Great hosting @SecretaryWright for a visit to the Ames National Laboratory, one of 17 national labs across the country. Later that day, she commented on one of the attractions of the Iowa State Fair: its food offerings. In a post dated August 14, 2025, she stated, "Fair food is half the reason to come to the Iowa State Fair, and the Maple Bourbon grilled cheese from What’s Your Cheez definitely proved the point! https://t.co/JQca9THWXe".

On August 15, 2025, Miller-Meeks mentioned preparing for an evening concert at the fairgrounds by enjoying local cuisine. She posted: "Fueling up with an HoQ Lamb Wrap and a Specialty Ice Cream Bar before @DefLeppard rocks the Iowa State Fair Grandstand! https://t.co/cRXLqze65a".

Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa's 1st congressional district since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 and previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire, she earned her BSN from Texas Christian University in 1976.
