U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who serves Iowa’s 1st district in Congress, shared updates on her recent activities and constituent services through a series of posts on August 12, 2025.
In her first post of the day, Miller-Meeks addressed residents experiencing issues with federal agencies. She wrote, "Live in Iowa’s 1st District and having trouble with a federal agency like Social Security, the VA, or the IRS? My office can help! Head to my website today for a full list of services we offer!" (August 12, 2025).
Later that afternoon, she highlighted her visit to Perspective Therapeutics in Coralville alongside Senator Joni Ernst and Kelly Garcia from the Small Business Administration. Miller-Meeks stated, "Great joining @SenJoniErnst and @SBA_Kelly in Coralville to tour Perspective Therapeutics, an Iowa small business leading the way in groundbreaking cancer treatments. Programs like the Small Businesses Innovation Research (SBIR) help innovators like Perspective Therapeutics" (August 12, 2025).
In her final post of the evening, Miller-Meeks reported on her tour of a local energy project: "Had a great time touring the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project in Pella to see firsthand how reliable, affordable hydroelectric power strengthens our power grid. We also discussed the permitting and construction process that brought this project to life." (August 12, 2025).
Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa’s 1st district since replacing Dave Loebsack in Congress in 2021. Prior to her current role in Congress, she served as an Iowa state senator from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire, Miller-Meeks holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University.
