Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently representing Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts this week highlighting community milestones and national celebrations.
On August 4, Miller-Meeks recognized the anniversary of a major branch of the armed services: "Happy 235th Birthday to the U.S. Coast Guard! Thank you to the brave men and women who protect our shores and save lives every day. Semper Paratus! ️ https://t.co/DbklhF2wzw".
Later, on August 6, she marked an important occasion for local healthcare providers: "Great to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of River Hills Riverside CHC during Community Health Center Week. That same evening, Miller-Meeks also noted her attendance at a local event in Mt Pleasant: "Perfect night in Mt Pleasant for Access Energy Cooperative’s annual member meeting. Everyone had a great meal and there was lots to do for kids also. https://t.co/niD1e3rUQ7".
Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa’s 1st District since replacing Dave Loebsack in Congress in 2021. She previously served in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University. Born in Herlong, California in 1955, she currently resides in Le Claire.
