Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 1st district, recently used her social media platform to highlight legislative achievements and constituent services. In a series of posts published on August 1 and August 2, Miller-Meeks discussed new tax relief measures for families and seniors in Iowa, as well as resources available through her office.
On August 1, Miller-Meeks wrote about changes to the Child Tax Credit: "As a mother, I know how expensive it is to raise a family. That’s why I fought to increase the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 in the One Big Beautiful Bill, after Democrats voted to cut it in half. Now it’s signed into law and will deliver real relief to Iowa families."
Later that day, she addressed benefits for older residents: "Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill, Iowa seniors get a $6,000 tax deduction. After a lifetime of work, they deserve the peace of mind this brings."
On August 2, Miller-Meeks promoted assistance offered by her congressional office: "Live in Iowa’s 1st District and having trouble with a federal agency like Social Security, the VA, or the IRS? My office can help! Head to my website today for a full list of services we offer!
