Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who represents Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on her social media account highlighting both personal acknowledgments and local events.
On August 2, 2025, Miller-Meeks wrote, "Join me in wishing @VP a happy 41st birthday! https://t.co/GyIQzJWpQZ". The following day, she encouraged constituents to stay informed about her work by sharing, "Subscribe to my weekly newsletter and be the first to hear updates from Washington D.C. and to learn more about the work I’m doing for Iowa’s First District!

Later that same day, Miller-Meeks highlighted her attendance at a major sporting event with the message: "We are underway at the Iowa Corn 350 NASCAR Cup Series in Newton! https://t.co/s3YTZQK5Cv".
Miller-Meeks has served as U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 1st District since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021. She previously held office in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021 and has resided in Le Claire since moving from Herlong, California where she was born in 1955. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University in 1976.
