Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who represents Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several updates on her social media account regarding international trade deals and a tragic event in New York City.
On July 28, 2025, Miller-Meeks posted about a significant energy agreement between the United States and the European Union: "Thanks to @POTUS, the EU is set to buy over $150 BILLION in U.S. energy. The following day, she addressed a recent shooting incident in New York City with condolences for those affected: "My heart goes out to all the victims of the horrific shooting in New York City & who tragically lost their lives, including the NYPD officer. Miller-Meeks has served as a member of Congress since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 and previously held office in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. She was born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently resides in Le Claire. Miller-Meeks holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University.
