Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 1st district since 2021, posted a series of tweets on July 20 and 21, 2025, highlighting recent policy changes and economic developments under the current presidential administration.
On July 20, Miller-Meeks listed several accomplishments attributed to the president’s first six months in office: "In just 6 months, @POTUS has:
Secured the border
Passed the biggest tax cuts in U.S. history
Brought gas to 4-year lows
Dropped egg prices 40%
Protected women’s sports
Cut billions in waste, fraud, and abuse
America is back, and we’re just getting started "
Later that day, she addressed fuel prices in Iowa: "Gas in Iowa hit almost $5/gal under Joe Biden.
Just 6 months into @POTUS 2.0, it’s under $3 in Iowa, and even cheaper elsewhere.
That’s what happens when you unleash American energy. https://t.co/w0MLmV9YLI"
On July 21, Miller-Meeks commented on immigration enforcement: "Under Joe Biden, over 10,000 illegal aliens were released into our communities EVERY DAY.
Under @POTUS, we have now gone back to back months with 0 illegal aliens released into our communities.
That's the difference real leadership makes. https://t.co/ojHv1MquN9"

Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire at age 67, Miller-Meeks earned her BSN from Texas Christian University in 1976.
