Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., who represents Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to address ongoing political developments and legislative achievements.

On July 19, 2025, Miller-Meeks commented on an emerging investigation involving former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and top intelligence officials. She stated, "Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and top intel officials used the intelligence community to push the RUSSIA HOAX and sabotage @realDonaldTrump’s first presidency. Now, an investigation is being launched into their roles. Long overdue."

Later that same day, she highlighted her involvement in tax legislation for Iowa residents. In a post dated July 19, 2025, she wrote: "Proud to have helped deliver real tax relief for hardworking Iowans in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. More money in your pocket, more freedom to live the American Dream."

On July 20, 2025, Miller-Meeks encouraged constituents to stay informed about her work in Washington by subscribing to her newsletter: "Subscribe to my weekly newsletter and be the first to hear updates from Washington D.C. and to learn more about the work I’m doing for Iowa’s First District!"

Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa's 1st District since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021. Prior to her congressional service, she was a member of the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021 and has a background in nursing after graduating from Texas Christian University with a BSN in 1976. Born in Herlong, California in 1955, she currently resides in Le Claire.
