Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., a U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 1st district, highlighted recent legislative actions and policy positions in a series of tweets posted on July 18 and 19, 2025.
On July 18, Miller-Meeks wrote: "Last night, @HouseGOP passed two big wins for the American people:
H.R. 4 – The Rescissions Act: Cuts $9 billion in waste, fraud, and abuse exposed by DOGE
H.R. 4016 – Defense Appropriations: Fully funds our military and delivers a well-earned raise to our service members".
Later that day, she commented on agricultural policy with a focus on foreign land ownership: "America’s farmland belongs to the American people, not the Chinese Communist Party." (July 18).
The following day, Miller-Meeks referenced tax relief legislation: "Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill, Iowans are keeping more of what they earn. From families to farmers to workers and small business owners, this bill delivers real relief to those who need it most." (July 19).
