Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently representing Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has highlighted her recent legislative efforts and policy positions through a series of posts on social media.
On July 17, 2025, Miller-Meeks announced the reintroduction of bipartisan legislation aimed at combating fentanyl sales online. She wrote, "Today, I reintroduced the bipartisan Cooper Davis and Devin Norring Act to strengthen our fight against fentanyl. This bill ensures social media platforms work with law enforcement to stop the online sale of deadly drugs targeting our kids."
Later that day, she commented on congressional action regarding digital assets and privacy. In her post dated July 17, 2025, Miller-Meeks stated, "This Crypto Week, we passed 3 major bills to secure America’s digital future: Digital Asset Market Clarity Act Genius Act Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act These bills give clear rules, protect privacy, and help the U.S. outcompete the Chinese Communist Party in digital".
On July 18, 2025, Miller-Meeks expressed gratitude for emergency relief related to medical device sterilization regulations. She wrote, "As a physician, former OR nurse, and patient, I’m grateful @POTUS granted emergency relief from Biden’s EPA rule on ethylene oxide. There’s no alternative for sterilizing many critical medical devices. This decision protects patients and saves lives."
Miller-Meeks has served in Congress since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 and previously held office in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021.
