U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., shared updates on July 16, 2025, about meetings with Iowa healthcare and agriculture leaders, highlighting discussions on rehabilitation care and legislative support for farmers.
In a post from July 16, Miller-Meeks stated, "Great meeting Angela Zaremba, CEO of the University of Iowa Health Network Rehabilitation Hospital to discuss inpatient rehab access and the importance of protecting care for Iowans recovering from serious illness or injury."
Later that day, she reported on her engagement with agricultural youth leaders: "It was great meeting with the Iowa FFA State Officer Team! We discussed how the permanent death tax relief in the One Big Beautiful Bill will help them protect their family farms, preserve their legacy, and lead the future of agriculture in Iowa and across the country."
Miller-Meeks also met with representatives from the Iowa Farm Bureau. She posted on July 16: "Great meeting with the Iowa Farm Bureau to talk about the wins we delivered for farmers in the One Big Beautiful Bill, including permanent relief from the death tax and the permanent 199A deduction. We also discussed year-round E-15 and the Farm Bill."
Mariannette Miller-Meeks has represented Iowa’s 1st district in Congress since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Iowa Senate between 2019 and 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955, Miller-Meeks currently resides in Le Claire. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University in 1976.
