Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently representing Iowa’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform on July 14, 2025, to address recent policy actions and political developments. Her posts highlighted state-level disaster response efforts, legislative initiatives targeting the middle class, and concerns regarding presidential pardons.

On July 14, 2025, Miller-Meeks acknowledged Governor Kim Reynolds’ response to a local emergency by stating "Thank you to @IAGovernor for taking decisive action to support the people of Scott County. Her disaster proclamation unlocks crucial recovery resources, including up to $7,000 in immediate aid for impacted households."

Later that day, she outlined several provisions of a legislative package aimed at benefiting middle-class Americans. In her post dated July 14, 2025, she listed: "Five big wins for the middle class under the One Big Beautiful Bill: Permanent Tax Cuts and Jobs Act $2,200 Child Tax Credit Cuts taxes on tips and overtime $1,000 newborn investment accounts $6,000 tax break for seniors".

In a subsequent post from July 14, 2025, Miller-Meeks questioned President Joe Biden’s involvement in his own pardon decisions. She stated: "Joe Biden admitted he didn’t approve every name on his own pardon list, he let his progressive handlers choose for him and sign off with an autopen. What else did his handlers sign off on without him knowing?"

Mariannette Miller-Meeks has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Dave Loebsack and previously held office in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire, she holds a BSN from Texas Christian University.
