Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., a member of the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 1st district, recently shared her views and experiences through social media on July 4th, 2025. Her tweets highlighted both political accomplishments and national celebrations.

On July 4th at 14:51 UTC, Rep. Miller-Meeks acknowledged President Biden's efforts in reducing gas prices during the holiday period. She stated, "Promises made, promises kept! @POTUS has delivered the lowest Fourth of July gas prices since 2021."

An hour later at 15:51 UTC, she expressed her enthusiasm for participating in the nation's historic celebration. She tweeted about attending an event at the Iowa State Fair alongside President Biden and other dignitaries to commemorate the United States' 250th birthday. She wrote, "There was no better place to kick off the 250th birthday celebration of our great nation than the Iowa State Fair."

Mariannette Miller-Meeks has served in Congress since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021 and previously held a position in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and now residing in Le Claire, she graduated from Texas Christian University with a BSN in 1976.
