Miller-Meeks shares reflections on Air Force One flight and Independence Day

Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 1st district, shared her experiences and thoughts on social media over the July 4th holiday. Her posts reflected both personal moments and broader political sentiments.

On July 3, 2025, Rep. Miller-Meeks expressed her gratitude for traveling aboard Air Force One with President Biden. She tweeted: "What an honor it is to be flying home to Iowa on Air Force One! Thanks for the ride, @POTUS!"

Later that day, she took a moment to commend Speaker Johnson's leadership following a significant legislative victory. Her tweet read: "I want to take a moment to thank and congratulate our fearless leader, @SpeakerJohnson, on today’s historic victory." She praised his steadfastness and commitment to delivering results for the American people.

On Independence Day, July 4th, Rep. Miller-Meeks celebrated America's founding principles in a patriotic message: "Happy Independence Day! Today we celebrate the freedoms that make America the greatest nation on Earth." She emphasized the importance of defending these freedoms as America moves forward toward its 250th anniversary.

Miller-Meeks has served in Congress since replacing Dave Loebsack in 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and now residing in Le Claire, she has also served in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021 and holds a BSN from Texas Christian University.
