Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, M.D., a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Iowa’s 1st district, shared her insights on the "One Big, Beautiful Bill" through a series of tweets. Known for her previous role as a small business owner and her tenure in the Iowa Senate from 2019 to 2021, Miller-Meeks highlighted various aspects of this legislative proposal aimed at supporting American families and businesses.

On July 2, 2025, Miller-Meeks emphasized her understanding of small business challenges by stating "As a former small business owner, I know the sacrifice it takes to keep the lights on and payroll met. The One Big, Beautiful Bill delivers the largest tax cut in American history for Main Street, because small businesses are the backbone of Iowa’s economy." This tweet underscores her commitment to providing substantial tax relief to small businesses.

Later that day, she further elaborated on the bill's principles with another post: "Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act: hard work is rewarded, crime is punished, and American families, farms and small businesses come first." Her statement highlights key priorities within the bill that focus on rewarding diligence while ensuring safety and prioritizing community needs.

In a subsequent tweet at approximately 5:50 PM UTC on July 2nd, Miller-Meeks addressed energy concerns by stating "Iowa families deserve reliable, affordable energy. The One Big Beautiful Bill cuts burdensome red tape and unleashes American energy production to lower costs and strengthen our economy." This comment reflects an intention to reduce regulatory barriers in order to boost domestic energy production.

Miller-Meeks has been actively involved in legislative matters since replacing Dave Loebsack in Congress in 2021. Born in Herlong, California in 1955 and currently residing in Le Claire, she graduated from Texas Christian University with a BSN in 1976.
