Seasonal Job Fair set for April 2
The Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting dependable, hardworking individuals to fill seasonal positions for the spring and summer of 2022. To ensure all qualified individuals have a chance to learn more about open positions and how to apply, a second seasonal job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, in the Clubhouse at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course.
The Muscatine City Council recently passed an increase in the hourly rate for seasonal workers making these positions a great opportunity for individuals, including high school and college students, seeking seasonal work.
A variety of opportunities are available including Aquatic Center Manager, lifeguards, slide attendants, cashiers, equipment operators, office clerk, Golf Clubhouse supervisors, gas dock attendants, recreation program leaders, seasonal maintenance laborers, groundskeepers and College Search Kickoff program assistants. - Clubhouse Supervisor – The Clubhouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the clubhouse including, but not limited to, making tee times for golfers, checking in golfers, collecting daily fees for play, assisting the food and beverage team, maintaining the cleanliness of the clubhouse, keeping the outside cart staging area neat and organized, and selling merchandise in the pro shop. Work involves responsibility for greeting and directing customers, taking payments, and monitoring proper disposal of compost site materials. The position will be open until filled.
- Substitute Refuse Collector - The Muscatine Transfer Station is accepting applications for individuals to serve as a substitute refuse collector on an as needed basis. Hours will vary depending on need. Individuals applying should be reliable, physically able to lift 75 pounds and be able to work flexible and early morning hours. The position will remain open until filled.
- Transit Driver (Part-Time) - The Transit Division of the Department of Public Works is looking for a few people who love driving and providing excellent customer service to the community.
