Pay attention to road conditions and drive accordingly. There are some slippery patches out there.

12.28.21 | 5:45 p.m.

Crews are clearing both residential roads and Posted Snow Routes at this time. Response to this event should conclude sometime overnight into early Wednesday.

Please park off-street when you can to avoid being plowed in and help snow teams efficiently clear roads.

12.28.21 | 1: 15 p.m.

Public Works crews began responding to snow earlier this morning. Teams will continue plowing and salting Posted Snow Routes until clear to the curb before clearing residential roads later this evening.

Park off-street on Posted Snow Routes and residential roads through the overnight to avoid being plowed in and help operators clear roads as safely and quickly as possible.

Drive according to conditions, and take breaks when shoveling. This is a wet, heavy snow.

Public Works crews have begun plowing and salting Posted Snow Routes.

Our partners US National Weather Service Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois have issued a Winter Weather Advisory through 6 P.M. today, Tuesday, December 28. Around two inches of snow is expected, followed by rain.  #Davenport Public Works crews are ready to respond as needed. Slick travel conditions are possible. Remember to increase your following distance and drive according to conditions.

10.12.21 | 9:00 a.m.

With winter weather just around the corner, Davenport is making preparations for winter weather response.  Plow blades and spreaders are being installed, training conducted, and our salt supply has been replenished.

As part of winter preparation, the City encourages all residents and visitors to be prepared. This includes signing up for Snow Emergency Alerts. Signing up for alerts is the most reliable way to know when a Snow Emergency has been declared and when parking on posted snow routes is prohibited.

Snow emergencies are declared when the area is expected to receive ice and/or hazardous volumes of snow. Parking is prohibited on Posted Snow Routes when a snow emergency is declared to help Public Works crews ensure the highest traffic volume roads and hills receive priority service, which helps everyone get around when the snow starts to fly.

To subscribe, visit www.davenportiowa.com/alertiowa.  We will be conducting a test of the snow emergency alert system on Wednesday, October 20, to help you stay in the know.
