St. Ambrose University Athletics issued the following announcement.
The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) named 789 swimmers and divers to its Scholar All-American Team for the 2020-21 season. St. Ambrose had six of its team members honored.
The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and invited to compete at their respective national championship. With the cancelation of the 2021 NAIA Championships, the CSCAA established time standards for qualification based on a standard deviation of previous national championship participation.
The Fighting Bees on the list were Bethany Anderson, Justin Fales, Caleb Gaylor, Rais Hassim, Petter Kolaas and Taylor Madison.
In late June, St. Ambrose was one of eight men's programs and one of 11 women's programs to be recognized by the CSCAA as Scholar All-America Teams. The teams earned the honor after posting GPAs of 3.36 and 3.34, respectively.
