“Iowa leads the nation in corn, pork, and soybean production, and expanding access to international markets is essential for our rural communities to thrive,” Miller-Meeks stated. She emphasized the negative impact of overregulation on local producers, expressing her commitment to removing trade barriers, expanding market access, and ensuring fair competition for Iowa's farmers. Miller-Meeks declared that "Agriculture isn’t just a way of life in Iowa—it’s the backbone of our economy, and I will always stand with the hardworking men and women who feed and fuel our nation."
The Congressional Agricultural Trade Caucus was co-founded by Representatives Adrian Smith (R-NE), Jim Costa (D-CA), Dusty Johnson (R-SD), and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA). It is devoted to enhancing trade policies. The caucus is a bipartisan platform aiming to bolster market access, increase agricultural exports, and reduce trade restrictions.
The agenda includes efforts to strengthen international competitiveness, improve U.S. agricultural product market access, enhance supply chains, and restore U.S. leadership in global trade discussions.
