U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley has introduced a new whistleblower portal aimed at public and private sector workers who wish to report waste, fraud, and abuse within their workplaces. As the Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee, Merkley emphasizes the importance of this tool in light of actions taken by the Trump Administration.

The portal is designed to allow federal workers and others to report any illegal activities they witness or know about. This initiative comes as a response to what Merkley describes as the administration's disregard for legal processes, including "impounding funds or attempting to subvert Congress’s power of the purse."

Merkley highlighted several decisions made by President Trump's administration that he claims have significantly altered federal government operations without congressional approval. These include canceling programs, suspending grants, and reorganizing departments. He stated, “The President is not a king, and we will make sure he is held accountable.”

The Senate Budget Committee's role includes overseeing spending and revenue rules related to the federal budget. The submissions through this new portal will be monitored by Merkley's staff on the committee. The senator encourages those with knowledge of illegal activities in both public and private sectors to use this resource.

The whistleblower portal is accessible online.
