Miller-Meeks submits funding requests for 15 community projects in Iowa's First District

DAVENPORT — Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) announced today that she has submitted 15 Community Project Funding requests for Iowa’s First Congressional District. These projects, requested for Fiscal Year 2025 Appropriations, will now be reviewed by the House Appropriations Committee.

“I am proud to submit 15 community projects that would greatly benefit Iowa’s First Congressional District,” said Miller-Meeks. “These initiatives range from investing in expanding trained workforce resources for local hospitals to rebuilding our aging infrastructure in the state and improving our wastewater facilities. Thank you to all who submitted applications for important projects and the countless local leaders for advocating for future investments in our community.”

The following Community Funding Projects were submitted by Rep. Miller-Meeks:

- Center for Advanced Education and Medical Simulation Project (Jones County) ($6,653,562)

- City of Burlington Cascade Bridge Project ($8,000,000)

- City of Clinton North River Drive Connector Project ($1,520,000)

- City of Davenport Water Pollution Control Plant Flood Mitigation Project ($3,450,000)

- City of Tipton Montgomery Drive Improvement Project ($1,849,790)

- Keokuk Area Hospital Priority Outpatient Services Project ($825,000)

- Keokuk County Route G13 Pavement Improvement Project ($2,000,000)

- Knoxville Public Safety and Civic Building Project ($2,770,000)

- Lee County Career Center Project ($2,201,943)

- Mahaska County YMCA Infant, Youth and Teen Education Center Project ($4,500,000)

- Newton YMCA Community Enhancement Project ($4,797,975)

- Papoose Creek Lift Station Redundant Force Main to Water and Resource Recovery Facility Project($2,923,,549)

- Route W21 Pavement Improvement Project ($2,,800,,000)

- U.S. Highway 6/Deer Creek Road Intersection Project($4,,900,,000)
