Eastern Iowa Community College recently issued the following announcement.
During the month of March, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is hosting two campus visit sessions for students and families to learn more about our campuses, programs and student life.
The first, happening on Wednesday, March 9, is a virtual campus visit session that allows you to ask questions and meet members of the EICC community, all without having to leave your home. Our virtual visits are delivered via Zoom, which doesn’t require any additional software. Registration is required to attend.
The second, happening on Monday, March 21, is an in-person campus visit, taking place at Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges, the SCC Urban Campus and the Blong Technology Center. The visit begins at 9 a.m. at each campus.
The college will have representatives on hand to answer any and all questions about college programs, financial aid, applying for admission and more.
To ensure everyone’s safety and offer the best experience possible, in-person campus visits will be limited in size. Our staff and all visitors are expected to follow health and safety guidelines, including mask wearing and social distancing. Registration is required to attend.
And as students are nearing the final months of the school year, this is the perfect time for both seniors, and juniors, to start exploring their options for the future. The sessions are also open to anyone who is already out of school and thinking about starting their college or technical education.
Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is THE Community’s College with a wide variety of options ranging from a college transfer program for students interested in completing a Bachelor’s Degree or beyond, to more than 30 career programs for those wanting to enter directly into the job market.
The colleges’ technical programs range from advanced manufacturing and auto to nursing and business, with everything else in between. Many of these programs have been designated high-demand by the state of Iowa, which means students may even have the opportunity to get their tuition paid through Iowa’s Last Dollar Scholarship Program.
College transfer students are guaranteed their credits will transfer once they finish here thanks to formal agreements the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, University of Northern Iowa, St. Ambrose University, Western Illinois University and others who have signed with EICC.
Over 15 different Transfer Major Associate Degrees will also be available. The state’s community colleges and public universities joined forces to create these majors, enabling students to start taking classes required for their major while at EICC. The partner colleges and universities have all agreed on these classes, giving the courses their academic seal of approval. This is great news, because it’s like being a student at the four-year college, but students are able to save money and start their major closer to home.
In addition, EICC’s tuition is the most competitive in the state of Iowa and many grant, loan and scholarship options make a college education possible for everyone.
