Hinshaw partner Judy Selby was quoted in a Law360 story that reviewed measures being considered by several state legislatures that would retroactively expand business interruption insurance policies to cover losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Selby suggested that were any of these bills to become law, they would likely face protracted court challenges. "The concept of forcing a single industry to shoulder so much of the financial burden of a global crisis is truly breathtaking," she noted.
