City of Bettendorf issued the following announcement on Dec. 7.

When: Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 9 AM – 2 PM CST

Where: Bettendorf Police Department

1609 State St, Bettendorf, Iowa 52722

The Bettendorf Police Department will host the fifth annual Pack-A-Police Car Toy Drive on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The toy drive will held in the Bettendorf City Hall parking lot, 1609 State Street. New unwrapped toys, books, and monetary donations will be accepted.

To help celebrate this year’s toy drive, there will be cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus and refreshments available from Hy-Vee, Dunn Bros, and Pita Pit. Not only will the Police Department pack police cars, but for the first time, the Bettendorf Fire Department will join in and try to pack a fire truck with toys.

Donation barrels are available at the Bettendorf Police Department, 1609 State Street, for those who cannot attend the December 7th toy drive. Other donation barrel sights include: Pita Pit, 2439 53rd Avenue, Bettendorf; Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline; and WaterMark Corners, 1500 River Drive, Moline.

All toys and donations received will benefit Operation Toy Soldier, which provides toys to the children of local active and inactive military families in need.
