The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is honored to present Michelle Dhansinghani CEO of Elan Strategies, a Washington D.C. This series will explore diversity in leadership - it’s not a nice to do but a need to do. Companies with diverse leadership are 35% more likely to have financial returns above their industry median and are outperforming company profitability. Governments with gender parity and minority representation are writing laws that are more inclusive and serve all communities. Business, government and civil society is finally understanding that diversity in the only way forward. Join us as we talk about the power of diversity in leadership and learn how to navigate spaces of power, overcome challenges and barriers, and thrive.
The Multicultural Speaker Series seeks to provide an opportunity for attendees to enhance cultural awareness, fulfill diversity education needs, increase integration into the community, and expand networks across community sectors. The Multicultural Speaker Series is sponsored by Black Hawk College, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges District and WQPT is a media sponsor.
The Multicultural Speaker Series will be held 11:30am, Friday, October 4th, at Ascentra Credit Union, Lensmeyer Learning Center, 2019 Grant Street Bettendorf, Iowa. Admittance for the event, which includes lunch, is $15 for Hispanic Chamber members and $20 for non-members. Group and Student rates are available. Michelle is CEO of Elan Strategies, a Washington D.C. based boutique consulting firm with global presence focused on business development for nonprofit organizations to diversify funding and build a pipeline into corporate America.
Prior to funding Elan Strategies Michelle worked for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the largest Hispanic business organization in the United States, managing fundraising efforts with Fortune 500 companies. Michelle also worked for the Cesar Chavez foundation as the Regional Director of outreach, building national relationships with labor, farm worker, and non-violent organizations. During her time on Capitol Hill for United States Congressman Lloyd Doggett and Congressman Henry Cuellar, Michelle worked with constituents and external organizations drafting policy correspondence focused on international affairs. While in Austin, Texas Michelle worked at Gerson Lehrman Group focusing on investment decisions in the energy and industries.
She is an alumna of the University of Texas at Austin and sits on the board of directors of Hera Angels, an investment fund focused on empowering, educating, and funding women owned businesses. Michelle is also a member of the American Mexican Association, focused on amplifying economic and cultural contributions of Mexican Americans in the United States
Michelle is a proud native of South Texas and enjoys giving back through the Kappa Delta Chi DC Alumnae Chapter where she served as a president of the organization.
